Our Dual Operational Model
At Technical Advice Connect (TAConnect), we recognize that achieving sustainable improvements in health systems requires a comprehensive, integrated approach that not only addresses immediate technical gaps but also empowers local systems for long-term success. Our dual operational model brings together two core functions as a Technical Assistance (TA) Hub and Direct Service Delivery Partner at the Last Mile.
Technical Assistance Hub
TAConnect serves as an innovative Technical Assistance (TA) delivery platform aimed at promoting sustainable improvements within Primary and Secondary Healthcare systems. As a TA hub, we are dedicated to strengthening the systems that deliver essential healthcare services by providing tailored, cohesive support in line with state needs and priorities.
We work closely with both national and sub-national governments to ensure that the interventions we deploy align with their healthcare goals. In doing so, we help them define critical challenges, identify the necessary solutions, and provide the required expertise to enhance healthcare service delivery.
We work to enhance state and local governments' ability to manage and oversee healthcare delivery
effectively, ensuring accountability and fostering transparency.
We provide institutional strengthening through skill development and knowledge transfer, ensuring that healthcare workers, managers, and local administrators are equipped with the tools and expertise needed to manage resources and drive change independently.
TAConnect collaborates with state actors to develop and implement policies that strengthen PHC systems. Our support ensures that these policies are not only in line with global best practices but are also adaptable to the local context.
As part of our broad mandate, TAConnect manages the grant-making and sub-award process. We receive grants from various donors and work closely with them to ensure transparent, effective, and efficient deployment of resources.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning: Our technical oversight ensures that the systems, tools, and approaches deployed are aligned with measurable outcomes, with a clear focus on promoting sustainability and local ownership.
Direct Service Delivery at the Last Mile
While our primary role as a TA hub is to provide strategic guidance, TAConnect has deep seated expertise in service delivery as exemplified in our implementation of various targeted interventions. Our direct service delivery model ensures that we are not only supporting the healthcare system from the top but also playing an active role in executing critical health interventions on the ground.
One of the most notable examples of this dual model in action is our immunization programs funded by the Pfizer Foundation. By being directly involved in service provision, we bridge the gap between technical planning and practical implementation, ensuring that the innovations and strategies developed through our TA are effectively carried out where they are most needed.
Instead of imposing external solutions, TAConnect works with local governments, communities, and healthcare providers to identify the most pressing challenges and design context-specific solutions.
By engaging directly with healthcare facilities, community health workers, and local organizations, we ensure that the interventions we design reach the people who need them most.
We work closely with local communities to build trust, encourage ownership, and ensure long-term sustainability. Community leaders, health workers, and local organizations are integral to the design and implementation of our programs.
TAConnect ensures that once our direct service delivery interventions are up and running, local governments and communities have the resources, training, and support needed to continue those services sustainably.
